State Exemption for Military Retired Pay
We have two bills in the Maryland General Assembly to exempt military retired payfrom state and local taxes. In the Senate, it is SB-625 and in the House, it is HB-549. Step one is for hearings to be held in support of the bills before the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee. That has been done step two is for the bills to pass out of committee so that they can go to the full Senate and House for consideration. In fact, neither bill has made it out of either committee, and if they don’t get out of committee, they’re dead!
