We at the Worcester County Veterans Memorial are honored to share these stories with you.
The interviews were always concluded with the question: "What do you want to be rememberd for in connection with your military service?" Invariably, they made two points. The first is that they served and were proud to do so and would do it again in a heartbeat. The second is that they want to be remembered as good Marines, Sailors, Airmen, Soldiers and Coast Guardsman, by the people with whom they served - people who Shakespeare described as that "Band of Brothers".
These stories span many years and many wars from the American Civil War to our involvement in Iraq today. We are always looking for more stories to tell and if you want your story added, please contact Memorial Foundation Administrative Assistant Sherri Lassahn via US Mail at Worcester County Veterans Memorial, P.O. Box 1576, Ocean Pines, MD 21811 or email her at Sherrivets@verizon.net or call 410.458.1718.
